Analytics section — draft for adviser review.

Analytics and your choices

We use analytics to make Bridge Loan Checker easier to use, understand where people get stuck, and measure how the journey leads to an Assisted Submission.

PostHog EU

We use PostHog's EU service to record selected journey events, including pages viewed, steps completed, lender-result counts, downloads and Assisted Submission checkout activity. We may also record campaign labels: source, medium and campaign.

A randomly generated identifier connects these events. It is not generated from your name, email address, IP address or application reference. It stays in browser memory rather than a tracking cookie or browser storage. Where available, it is passed through Stripe checkout to connect a verified payment event to the earlier journey. Its association with a payment record makes it pseudonymous rather than irreversibly anonymous.

We do not send your form answers, contact details, property address, loan or property values, or BLC reference to PostHog. Visitor IP and browser headers are not forwarded to PostHog. Geolocation enrichment, automatic input capture and session recording are disabled.

You can stop browser PostHog analytics using Analytics preferences in the footer. Your choice applies to this browser. We store only your opt-out choice, until you turn analytics back on or clear your browser's site data. Turning analytics back on removes that saved choice. Opting out does not delete previously recorded events. A checkout started before opt-out may still generate its separate verified payment event.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, PostHog defaults to off. You can explicitly turn it on for the current visit; that opt-in is not saved for later visits.

Plausible EU

We also use Plausible's EU service for cookieless website statistics. It does not use persistent browser identifiers. Plausible processes request information to count visits and may derive approximate country and browser statistics, but does not store raw IP addresses or browser-header strings. We do not send it your form answers or BLC reference.

Plausible is separate from the PostHog preference switch and continues when that switch is off.

Retention

PostHog: Free plan: events queryable for 1 year.

This describes PostHog's event-query window, not a guarantee that records are automatically deleted when that window ends.

Plausible: Plausible keeps aggregated website statistics for as long as we use the service. Our plan allows up to 3 years of history. Plausible does not store raw IP addresses or browser header strings, and the daily code used to count unique visitors is deleted every 24 hours. If we stop using Plausible, we delete our site data, which Plausible then permanently deletes.
